Instructions:

  1. Prep the Artichokes: Rinse the artichokes thoroughly under cold water. Cut off the top third of the artichokes and trim the stem to about 2 cm long. Remove the outer layer of leaves until you reach the softer, lighter-colored leaves.
  2. Remove the Choke: Cut the artichokes in half and use a spoon to scoop out the fuzzy choke in the center. Discard the choke.
  3. Steam the Artichokes: Place the artichoke halves in a steaming basket over boiling water. Cover and steam for about 15-20 minutes or until the artichokes are tender and can be easily pierced with a fork.
  4. Cool and Puree: Allow the artichokes to cool slightly after steaming. Transfer the cooled artichokes to a blender or food processor. Add a small amount of water (about 50 ml) to start and blend until smooth. Add more water if necessary to achieve the desired consistency.
  5. Serve: Once the puree is smooth and creamy, spoon it into your baby’s feeding bowl. Ensure it is cooled to an appropriate temperature before feeding your baby.
